It was hot summer , temperature was just above 40 degree centigrade and still I wanted to have a cup of tea in the little city of Shabad city of Gulbarga , KA. When we were having tea with my friends , a really old looking lady came to the hotel we were having tea and bought couple of biscuits and went just like that . I could easily tell by her appearance that she is above 90 age but the energy was near 60! I wished I could maker her portrait . Then we returned to the wedding hall to attend the final stage of my colleague’s wedding.
And there she is ! Chatting with group of people , telling stories, playing with tens of boys and girls. By the atmosphere around her I could easily tell she was dear of all!! I had to disturb the group to fulfill my wish. So I talked to her for five minutes on age, village etc as usual. She was polite, answered my questions and when asked I can take a photo of her she was all happy!
but this part of conversation left me smiling and bowing to her to get her blessings !!
” Grandma , what is your age?”
” do not know son, it might be 93 … 96 may be, I am sure it is not hundred “
” wow, you are still strong ?!!”
” Ohh ( she looked away from me and said ) you should have come two years before. You could have met my mother”
” !!!!!”
