There is a temple ( ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಪಾಲೇಶ್ವರ Shri Kshetrapaleshwara : means god Shiva who protect the surrounding area ) at the start of Devimane ghat of Sirsi to Kumta road where the vehicles offer a small donation to the god before they start descending. It is believed that offering money and getting blessings of the god gives them a safe ride down without accidents. Even local public transport buses stop at the temple and take blessings from the temple god. Few years before the people used offer stones or some valuable things instead of money before they continue driving in the ghat to this temple or a church is which is few kilometers after the temple towards Sirsi. This practice is observed in all the religion and community whoever frequently drive through Devimane ghat.
This place has also a viewpoint to witness the grandeur of Western ghats . Tea shops here can serve the best tea and local fruits before one can drive through narrow hairpin curves.
