Colors of nature are always surprising! when I was at Marikottai, Chamarajnagar dist hunting for some landscape on our majestic Kaveri river side the morning surprised me with its color. Human eye certainly requires some amount of brightness to be seen . If the light or brightness is less it looks darker and the actual colors cannot be seen. But camera always can expose right . When the exposure is correct it shows the riot of colors happening around.
It was really dark when we were waiting for Palaniswami , the head of the fishermen family living on the banks of river Kaveri . As usual I exposed the morning for bit high ( I kept my explore meter +1/3 EV) which looked like bit soft due to moving clouds. But I noticed a strange pink color on my LCD . So I decided to expose for a bit faster speed at the cost of ISO and DOF. I shot this frame at f4, 1/6 sec , ISO2000 to see some nice textures in the sky. I could shoot two more frames before that little light fell over the clouds are completely gone. It was just that angle of the morning sun light , probably + or – .5 degrees which gave that pink sliky touch for the clouds.
A few minutes later Palaniswami arrived with his coracle and I went on to shoot his frame .
So I have included a before and after to prove my point !
Also you can click to see the treatment I have given to achieve this . I have shot this image in RAW and processed in Adobe Lightroom . Checkout the white blance ad tint. they are normal daylight settings !
Also I have something exciting coming ( yes, it is about a workshop I am mentoring 🙂 ) which I will reveal in detail here. Watch this space !
