The Green Room

Shri Siddalingeshwara Nataka Mandali ( ಸಿದ್ದಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ನಾಟಕ ಮಂಡಳಿ) of Siddaganga Mutt does only one drama  ” Jagajyothi Basaveshwara nataka ”  through out the year from the day one it started its drama company. The sole goal of the company is to spread the greatness of Shri Basavanna , a social reformer of 12th century. The company does not charge its viewers or the hosts except the transportation charges .

The participants are regular students, teacher, administrative officials of the company or Mutt who practice hundreds of hours during their free time. They do not take any money but they travel through out the state of Karnataka giving shows. But the drama is a master piece with some superb performances which was a result of dedication and practice and another reason is they don’t have to do any other stories.

That is the reason the green room of this drama  is often friendly and  fun filled environment unlike a professional drama green room. I tried to capture some lovely moments here when the company had its show in the year 2012 during Hulukudi Jatre  ( fair)
